Simon from Hectic sports doing the draw for
a Hyperlite wakeboard donated to Wake NZ to help raise funds
for the NZ World wakeboard team to Compete in Doha October
this year.
It was won by Steve Churchman of Auckland, who was very excited
about winning this Hyperlite board and we understand has been
out riding already.

Thank you for your enquiry about
membership of our club.
This note is to explain how our club operates and what a prospective
member could expect upon joining.
The Waipuna Water Ski Club of Mt Wellington (Inc) was formerly
the New Zealand Water Ski Club (Inc) and one of the oldest established
water ski clubs in New Zealand, being formed in 1954.
Our clubhouse is situated in the Peterson Road Reserve and our
club is responsible for the complete control of water skiing within
the allocated area of the Panmure Basin. All boats using the area
must display at all times a licence number issued by the club on
behalf of the Auckland City Council and comply with special regulations
governing water skiing on the basin.
The basin is tidal and we can usually only ski two hours either
side of high tide. Hours for skiing are 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday,
extended to 8pm during daylight savings and 9am to 7pm on Sundays.
Due to the size of the allotted ski area, a maximum of four boats
is allowed to operate at any one time.
The club does not own a boat and therefore relies on the co-operation
of boat owner members to provide rostered duty boats on timetabled
days during the season when the tide is suitable. This enables members
to ski who are not boat owners or associated directly with a boat.
If you have not already visited the basin, you are cordially invited
to our next committee meeting. If you have any questions about our
club or the way we operate, please feel free to contact any members
of the Executive Committee. New members are welcome, and we will
do our best to answer your questions.
Ours is a friendly club. Many of the members are family groups,
ranging from sub-juniors to over 50’s. The club is strong
in competition skiing but equally caters for social skiers. Members
are always happy to assist beginners. So if you are wanting to learn
to ski, or are competent but want to polish your skills, it is likely
we can help.
Enclosed is an application form for membership, which on receipt
will be considered at our monthly executive committee meeting. We
like to meet prospective members if they are not already known to
a member of the executive committee.
Yours Faithfully
Secretary
