Some wicked inthusiasm going on. Must be commended.
Ology sells a basic one piece pole for $470.00 complete. It comes with base plate, Quick release side stays, Non stretch front stay wth Stainless ratchet and a Ology one piece pole.
Available in Aluminium or Stainless.
Saves the hassles and it works.
Feel free to call for advise on a build your own or if you are considering a finished product.
When the time comes we also trade Ology poles on Ology towers.
Our full product range will be on display at the Auckland boat show.

| basic physics mechanical principles means regardless if it's a pole or a tower, if the towing point is the same, the resultant heeling effect on the boat will be the same.

Hi guy's..
I have finished building the wakepole ... just need to test it now....
Looks great as pole, turn buckles, bolts etc are 316 marinegrade stainless .. and a mate of mine used black marine grade heatshrink to seal all the stainless wire joins after they were copper crimped.
Thanks to everyone for the tips and advice ..
Next project:
I am looking at some sort of stay that attaches to the outside of the boat allowing you to attach a quick release wakeboard rack ... have a few ideas in mind.

I'll try and get some this weekend if the weather is good.
Still need to tidy up the front strop with a stainless ring and a cover for the ratchet so if it drops it wont scratch my hull ...
But that can wait till summer ..
Pics to come

| my GOP hull is about that age and has 2 engine mount rails that are about 2x8 inches. they have the pole bracket bolted to them and it's strong as. i think there are pics of the setup in this thread somewhere.

| if the main bearers are so weak they won't hold a decent bracket, it's time to think about a major refit as they would surely be struggling to hold the engine. however it could be the bear don't run the whole length & are thineer further forward. investigate carefully. i think it's well worth doing a decent bracket & avoiding the rear stays as makes it all a lot more user friendly

hey str8_up
I'm no wakepole expert or anything, but from experience -
If you get your front and two rear stays right then the baseplate (positioned in the centre of your boat) would not have to be very deep -
You could screw a flat piece of 5mm aluminium tred plate (with a 50mm hole in it) to the floor of your boat.
