Navigation Safety Bylaw 2009: 4.8 Vessels to be identified
The skipper and owner of a vessel shall ensure the vessel is marked with its name or similar identifying marks, such as radio call sign, Coastguard membership number or trailer registration. The vesselís brand, model or make is not considered acceptable. This shall be displayed, on each side of the vessel. The number or name shall be a minimum height of 90 millimetres and each character shall be legible.

As you might or might not know if you run your boat on the waikato river network, (Taupo to port waikato) you are now required to have a registration number on your boat. They are not enforcing it yet from what I have seen but it is only a matter of time. I am going to use my trailer rego number which makes the most sense for a wakeboat.

This company has some really pimp drip molded numbers which you can order in various styles, I am going to get mine done, if any one else wants to share freight then drop me a line.

The only issue is the numbers are 3" high which is a little short to meet code but they are super pimp so I'm sure it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

come on old fella,, you can shorten that name up a little,
'ROA MOA'

not that it would apply to many people, but you can apply for a name exemption under special circumstances as Auckland will also be enforcing names in the future and you apply to the 'harbour master' for the exemption. in our case for exemption, the name is on the back of the boat which doesn't pass their present guidelines

The letters range from 12-20 US per sticker + postage depending on the style. I'll be ordering mine in a few weeks
