APTW Stop 2 Kicks Off This Weekend In South Australia With Wake Adelaide.
Friday 14 January 2005

Patawalonga Lake in Glenelg will be the gathering ground of the world’s dominant wakeboarders this Sunday for the second stop of the Australian Pro Tour of Wakeboarding event, Wake Adelaide.

Rookie competitor Dean Smith, a 19 year old from Cronulla in NSW, emerged last year as the new force in Australian Wakeboarding, winning the Wake Adelaide event. In convincing form, the young gun outclassed US Pro Tour veterans Brett 'Ike' Eisenhauer and Daniel Watkins to walk away with first place.

Defending champion Smith is expected to give it all he has to impress the Southern Aussie crowds and protect his winning title. "Last year was massive for me. To even be in the same field as my heroes was one thing, but to beat them was unexpected. This year will be even harder though as everyone’s killing it", says Smith.

After qualifying rounds on Saturday, the momentous end of the event gets underway on Sunday with the semi's starting at 11 am and going all the way through to the finals, expected to finish at 5pm. Entry on Saturday will be a gold coin donation, and on Sunday will be $5 at the gate.
