Andrea Fountain at the US Wakeboard Nationals
28th August 2006
Milwaukee, Wisconsin. USA - Andrea Fountain stomped an impressive
first pass, taking every trick big and clean. Andrea, a member of
Pinnacle, the high-performance mentor programme backed by Hyundai
in New Zealand and the only non USA rider competing this weekend
took an unfortunate fall 2nd trick into her second pass which left
her 3rd in her heat behind World #1 Dallas Friday and up and coming
rider Barrett Perlman both from the US. Just missing out on progressing
through to the Pro Women finals[top 6] of the US Wakeboard Nationals.
Andrea said of the event:
“I was really disappointed with this result, I wanted to
make to finals, ride my best and show the Americans what I could.”
The US Nationals is one of the most prestigious events of the year
for American and International riders a like.
To the many athletes and spectators dismay, last weekend at Lake
Andrea, in Wisconson gave them an impressive thunder and electrical
storm postponing all events in one day. Forcing organisers to run
many divisions a day later than first scheduled and cancel several
semi–finals, making it a tough day out on the water for the
riders.
Next event for Andrea Fountain, WWC World Champion is the 22nd
– 24th of September at the WWA Wakeboard Worlds, Dallas, Texas.
